I wish my handwriting was legible. Not for the benefit of the teachers, not for anyone trying to read it, but sometimes, it'd be nice to be able to read it myself.
Notes from English: "....no gap between implied author and narrator, no attempt to....[4 illegible words here]"
It's either
- dishing with the exes, - dusting with the oices, - closing wish the vices, - fishing via the exit, - disting vlish the exices, - destiny with the ices, or - fisting with rice.
or a combination of them. This wouldn't worry me so much, if it weren't for the fact that none of them make sense within the context of the sentence. Or, well, make sense.
This coursework is not a happy tale.

| | curious | ] | Before I forget, I had the weirdest dream last night, and it was weird because it was strangely realistic and loads of people I knew were in it. Basically, it was last year, and the hustings for head girl were taking place near the shed in the games field (obviously). However, to get head girl, one first had to give a speech, etc, but then embark upon a very long run. I was going to partake in this run, but I thought I'd have months to train for it, whereupon someone informed me that it was taking place at half past 2 that afternoon, so I couldn't be fucked, but charlie and sophie could So I went off and organised a puppet show with sarah blankfield, which was met with much critical approach, and I was extremely upset. Later that day, it was ascertained that sophie was head girl, as she had run 74 miles.
Then, I had to do my puppet show again, still in the sports field, and people ignored me, and I sulked a lot. And then, suddenly, we were all in newquay and in a fancy dress shop looking for pirate outfits. And I got these kick-arse leather boots and a plastic sword and char got a funny moustache disguise and katy bought a ship in a bottle. Sophie had mysteriously disappeared at this point, maybe recuperating from her run? And then we went back on the coach which was driven by Amy C's mum. We were sitting in the backrow looking all suspicious, and someone took our orders for food, so that was a bit hogwart's express-y. But we had to change our currency into percy pigs to buy our tea and cakes with, and sarah m threw a strop at this, and not only stole my money but also chucked my cigarettes (curiously marlboro lights) out the window.
I wouldn't normally write all this down, but it was really weirdly realistic, and when I woke this morning I felt strangely discomfited that I hadn't actually got any kick-arse leather boots.

I CAN'T FIND THE TWEEZERS.
This small fact is proving to be very stressful. I hate packing for holidays. But yay, soon I will be somewhere hot. It's a bit annoying that england is also choosing to be hot when I go away, but at least I will have a pool.
On friday, went to see the chili peppers. Got there about 12 and went round side with other people to queue and we were like "yay! we're the first 3 people here! hxc." But then, we asked a security dude and he told us to go round the other side. Where there were about a hundred people. Bugger.
And then I waited for 5 hours. This was boring as everyone around me seemed to be foreign so I couldn't even exchange witty repartee with anyone. Or whatever. I also decided not to drink anything as a) the queue for the toilet was massive b) it's hard to climb over barriers in a skirt and c) I wasn't sure if the weird foreign people would save my place.
Then char came at 5ish and we waited a bit more and they let us in, then more waiting, etc. Because I'd been waiting for ages there was a golden circle thing which we were in (we have wristbands and everything) which proved to be useful later.
Support band !!! was pretty weird but kinda cool. Ravey , drum'n'bass kinda stuff. And the spazziest dancing EVER from the lead singer. You thought the guy from the Rakes was weird? You should see !!!. They're blatantly all taking lots of drugs and having wild gay hedonistic orgies.
They only did about 4 songs 'cause they were all quite long, but they can't've been on longer than half an hour. At this point, I started to regret only having half a cheese sandwich at lunchtime and drinking practically nothing all day in the sun as I started to feel very hot and strange and char looked kinda the same. Some nice people gave me some water but then I sat down on the floor and some not so nice people decided to knee me in the small of the back. Even though we were only 4 people from the front char and I decided that if we stayed, we would probably die, so we went to get pizza and water. It was very good pizza.
Then luckily, 'cause of the golden circle thing, we could still get relatively near the front. YAY!!!!! When they came on, John was wearing a brown velvet suit, and Flea a pink lycra all in one thing. Snazzy. They started with can't stop, then dani california, then scar tissue, then I can't remember. They didn't play much from new album which is surprising considering there's two discs worth of material there. Played a track from uplift mofo party plan even which was random but cool. When they played it there was a guy dancing in front of us who was topless and really needed to pull his trousers up. It wasn't pretty.
One of the highlights was when John did How deep is your love, a la Beegees. He started with the 'I love your eyes in the morning sun' line and then stopped. Yes, cheesy music gets to even john frusciante. It was very good though and he did the high bits perfectly, naturally.
Then at the end we met mo and took the train together.
There have been far too many ands and thens in this entry. Still, I better get all the bad grammar etc out of my system before I force myself to plunge into various deep and meaningful books on the beach. Bah.

Bloody hell. Bikinis are such a rip-off. I can't believe I just paid £30 for 2 pieces of material that hardly exist. Although it's my fault for not looking properly in the changing room; I was more fascinated (well, horrified) by the way the lights turned my skin a lurid shade of yellow and invented cellulite that I swear hadn't previously existed
However, that's just bad lighting (I hope). What really bothered me, stuck in a mirrored cubicle, is my profile. I didn't know I looked like that from the side! Why didn't anyone tell me?!?
I also bought some deep+meaningful books and poetry today to read on the beach. As well as the obligatory chick-lit and Neil Gaiman.
Well. I suppose that's all that's been happening in my life that anyone wants to hear about. Actually, I've recently gotten into watching Family Guy - it's really funny!!! Does anyone else like it?

The woman in charge of me is this insanely active blonde woman who does yoga jogging etc and used to be a model. I always thought that kinda person only existed in novels or young boy's fantasies, but hey, she's nice. I have learnt nifty things about booking in and out and the modelling and fashion industry, and tried on some ridiculously expensive clothes and did spazzy dancing in the mirror when I thought no-one was looking. Later, I noticed the CCTV sign and felt like a bit of a tit.
But I have nothing to WEAR. Between I, my mother and my sister, it is HARD to find clothes that are smart(ish)casual, uberfashionable and cool at the same time. I need more clothes. I have particularly taken a liking to clothes labels Alannah Hill, Pinko and Fransa should anyone want to spontaneously donate me some clothes. So I'm having a big clothes chuck out tonight.
But what IS annoying is that it is so hot and I've been inside all these past days and godDAMNIT I should be righteously tanned at the moment. But I am not.
Right. I must commence the clothes-chucking-out-age. |

What? WHAT?
This does not happen to ME. Further more, it does not happen to me in sodding ENGLAND.
But it apparently it has. Which is a bit of a bugger, firstly because being sunburnt hurts (I didn't realise how much!) and secondly because now I can't take the piss out of people who get sunburnt in england. Like all you pale (and therefore lesser, haha) mortals.
To add insult to injury, it is not even an even tan; I have fucking lines from my clothing. I could have taken more clothing off, yes, but Mrs Kelly was having a garden party next door and it would've just felt weird.
So now I look like a weird zebra-fox* hybrid.
Onto the dull topic of exams, I have a textiles exam tomorrow and I don't know what it's about. Philosophy is dire to the extreme. Not even my new nifty book can help me.
On a brighter side of life, I've just found (after using LJ for over a year and a half) this rich text thing. I didn't know that existed! It does make one's life easier. I am, however, quite nifty at HTML now as I was not aided by this piece of wonder.

Going back slightly, the day before I went to see Take That in wembley arena and they were amaaaaaaaaazing. I'm not even being ironic, they were actually really, really good. They did this thing where they walked along this walkway that had descended from the ceiling so they were in the middle of the whole stadium and then did a Beatles medley!! which made me really quite happy and fangirly. There were a lot of pissed people (god knows how, on £4 smirnoff ices) over 20 dancing in the aisles and singing hideously. In fact, there were a lot of girls. The few men that were there had long since abandoned their guise of trying to be manly. Maybe all the estrogen overpowered them. Maybe the overpriced drinks. Who knows.
Anyhow, the concert was more of a cabaret thing. There was some trapeze and lots of pyrotechnics and water falling down (for 'back for good') And they did this skit thing harking back to the beginning of their career and their 'manager' was listing things that a boyband should be. "You must be able to dance!" (and they danced.) "break!" (and, er, they break-danced, bizarrely enough) and then the list went on to say things like "Not give away your sexual orientation to please the gay fanbase!" "Not have a girlfriend!" and the last one "You must be pretty!" and then the word pretty echoed round the whole place.
It was actually quite weird. But pretty cool.
Oh, and Beverly Knight was supporting. WAHOO!

| | Placebo - space monkey | ] | Ergh, it's eeeeeearly. Ish. Haven't got much sleep in past 48 hours. Proplus and copious amounts of tea are my friend.
Right, updateage. On monday went to zoe's party and dragged andy and steve with me. Andy being there was cool but we had to leave early which sucked a bit but alright 'cause I had to get up early anyway. Ooh, look at me being all responsible. ANyway, zoe, think I may've left my mp3 player at your house, can you have a look for it please? thanks. But yes, I am curious as to what happened after I left: bob's entry seems ominous and telling. Someone fill me in or make a scandalous entry.
And then yesterday it was placebo concert!!!!!!!! Had to get up hideously early to get to lauren's house. we made lots of ham sandwiches when we were there, then got the trains etc and walked up fuck-off hills to alexandra palace.
Unfortunately, it started raining as were walking, and, well, didn't stop for the next 6 hours. We got there about 12.30 and there were already about 40 people there, and sophie's brother was just in front of us. Lauren and I lit up the first cigarette of many, and settled down to wait.
We found some other people to sit with and they were cool and let us share their alcohol later. however, at one point, we were sitting on the ground so numb with cold that we didn't notice the rainwater seeping underneath us, and eventually we were actually sitting in a puddle. and lauren's trousers were soaked and there were black streaks running down her face. v. emo.
Didn't eat much of food we brought with us. Pringles ended up being our ashtray. set coat on fire by accident.
There's not much I can say to really convey the coldness. It was bad. But luckily we could go inside [art of ally pally to use the bathrooms and get drinks, but after doing that, back in rain again. feet were disgustingly wet. Placebo fans either wear converse or new rocks, and I only wish I'd gone for the latter.
At about 5.15 we were in the bathroom and there was this woman from xtaster there and we signed up to her mailing list and she gave us free stickers and placebo condoms! wahey! hxc! So that cheered us up a great deal.
Doors opened about 6.10 and it was the best moment of my life to date. heh. anyhow, we raaaaaaaaaaaaan to the front but then I had to go back to put lauren's bag and my coat in the cloackroom and there was a big queue for that and it was £2 quid per item, pah. but then I found them again by the way of their waving of silver sparkly pompoms.
Ladytron had pulled out of their support slot, which was a bit annoying as I actually know some of their songs, but the other support bands weren't bad.
And then placebo came on! and everyone surged forward and it got a bit hardcore. they started with stuff from meds and then...yeah, I can't remember the setlist. They did do a lovely slow version of 36 degrees and the piano version of teenage angst, and I was like yay for debut album love! Anyhow, me and lauren stuck togtether spectacularly and still managed to mosh and skank a lot.
I would go into more detail but my brain is still fuzzled. apologies for deviation from normally impeccable spelling and grammar, HAH.
Met up with ash and matt afterwards. walked back, thusly getting feet wet again and on train ate some food.
Quite frankly, I am surprised that I am NOT ILL from standing in freezing cold for hours and smoking about 25 fags in a day. Wahey! But now I have to do work. Boo! I don't feel in a worky mood. Did take philosophy book with me. it was a good intention. never read any of it, of course, but still.
Right. gonna go play guitar.
Do updates, people! |
